The timeless Truth is that we are Spiritual Beings having a Human Experience, not the other way around. We are Energy Beings and part of the package of being human is that we get to experience emotions like anger, sadness, joy, envy, anxiety, lust etc.

As a culture, we are not encouraged to express our emotions and they get trapped in our bodies blocking the natural flow of energy that gives us health, happiness and wholeness. In fact, many aches and pains in the body can be emotional in nature.

Emotion stands for Energy in Motion. The biggest obstacle to moving this energy is the MIND. The MIND is like a computer that is programmed to avoid pain and seek pleasure. When emotions start to release in the body the MIND releases thoughts such as "eat food" , "take drugs or alcohol", "work overtime", "watch TV", or "blame everyone and everything around you for how you are feeling" etc.

This energy has to move eventually so why not volunteer it in a conscious way ? Here are a few suggestions.

  • Kundalini Yoga is very powerful technology to release old emotions
  • Be aware of your body, use your breath (long deep breathing) to move the energy
  • Don't allow your MIND to distract you from the feelings
  • Move your body, go for a walk, dance, any kind of exercise will help
  • Write about your feelings in a private journal
  • Ask a friend or loved one to just 'listen to you' without offering advice and talk it out

Part of the process may be to feel a deep sadness buried within - keep moving through this and on the other side is JOY and LOVE. Celebrate these victories - you are bringing more and more LIGHT into your body and with this comes great TRANSFORMATION in your life.
